Petrophysical analysis of well data for clastic reservoir evaluation and determination of the invaded zone effect: A case study of a field in the onshore Niger Delta, South-South, Nigeria

Two reservoirs domiciled in a well have been analysed this study order to obtain the quantitative reservoir properties. These properties are essential not only for development and optimization but also accurate decision-making prior exploitation production. A suite of composite logs comprising caliper log, gamma-ray (GR) density resistivity sonic transit time obtained from field onshore Niger Delta was used petrophysical analysis. From our results, Reservoir 1 has potential produce oil gas with total hydrocarbon saturation 81%. However, due invaded zone effect on potential, fluid partitioned into moveable 65% immoveable 16% saturation. This resulted mud filtrate invasion radially shallow which displaced original while undisplaced remained pore spaces reservoir. The porosity sand is 33% its effective 32.5%. high effective/interconnected clean nature extremely small volume shale present (just 1.0%) clearly shows that highly porous, permeable producible.The net pay (represented by thickness TH Mesh 1) could be quantitatively determined lack depth information logs. second (Reservoir 2) 94.8% water just 5.2%. 82.8% 12% effect. at Again, arising (0.4%) clear indication producible. 2 higher compared evaluated absence values In final analysis, overall results show commercially favourable back.
